HEATWAVE DJ SESSIONS
2D design system
I produced a series of fliers for a couple DJs in the Denver area. This project evolved over time. As it became more regular, it required more of a branded presence. These DJ sessions were held at multiple locations and the fliers were printed, as well as posted on social media and emails. The concept was to recognize the branding whether it was on a lamp post or your mobile device.
The process of creating the logo came in quite a few steps. In the first progression, the HEATWAVE logo has a lighter sans serif font. The second progression was also created with a sans serif font and the w is replaced by a flame. In the third and final progression, I changed the font to a thicker serif font (Bright) and refined the flame so the w in in line with the rest of the logo.
Heatwave was hosted by DJ Beaslik and Fun Factory. These events promoted a unification of two different types of DJs. Those who spun vinyl and those who used a more digital platform.
